Room 100 Happenings

It has been so long! Here are a few exciting things that we have been up to:

Book Reviews

Recently, students in room 100 created book reviews. We wrote out our reviews first and then used technology to share with the class. Here's how we did it! First, we used Drawing Pad to make our book review poster. Then, we recorded our book review on Croak It and turned those recordings into QR codes. These book reviews will be up at Open House on the 24th so make sure to download a QR reader on your phone if you don't already have one!

Writing Chapter Books

Yes! You read that correctly! First graders are writing chapter books to teach others. This week we started our chapter books and everyone has been working so hard. In the next couple weeks, we will be taking this piece of writing through the writing process so be sure to look for a blog post about this process.

Inquiry Circles

This is something new and exciting in first grade! Students were put in to small groups, or inquiry circles, to research an ocean animal using several different resources. We started by sharing what we wondered and noticed about our animal and then we started the first part of our research on PebbleGo. We have learned so much already! Stay tuned for more info. Ask your child which animal they are researching with their group.

Sharing our wonders!
