Fundations with Mrs. Mance!

This year Kaneland is using a word study program called Fundations and yesterday we had a guest teach us our Fundations lesson! The program is a lot of fun and we are having a great time. We are also learning a TON! 

We were so lucky to have Mrs. Mance come and teach us Fundations. She is a reading coach here at McDole and she also happens to be a Fundations pro! She started her lesson by talking about rules and how important they are when we play games. Then, she told us that we use rules for reading and writing as well. Fundations helps us learn those rules.

The letters we learned yesterday were E and R. Mrs. Mance was showing us that vowels are on pink cards and consonants are on yellow cards.

We LOVE skywriting! We write our letters in the air to help us learn the letter formation.
